To My Internet Lover: Season 1 Finale
So a gajillion years ago, I (and several other YouTubers) had this collaborative web series that was split across all of our channels. We had no plan, no scripts, and basically had to build on whatever nonsense (time-traveling clones, screwdrivers used as weapons, paintbrushes) that the person before us would throw into the plot.
I’m watching this recap right now and I’m blown away by the fact that we were just doing all this for fun. There was no money, no expensive cameras, no crews, locations, or any thought to growing our subscriber numbers. We were all still in school, and this was just a side project.
Don’t get me wrong- five years later, I’m still having a lot of fun. But the culture of YouTube, and the reasons for why you collaborate with people, have definitely evolved. This video is a great reminder of that.
